Welcome to 2020-2021 DDA Membership Year!

Message from the DDA President

Welcome to a new membership year of Dallas Dietetic Alliance (DDA). I am honored to serve as the President of a diverse group of nutrition and dietetic professionals in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond. We are currently living in unprecedented times. 2020-2021 will not only be a year of unforeseen challenges and uncertainties; it will also be a year for resilience and new creativity. I always believe new opportunities are born in times of adversities and have faith that this year will present us with prospects of new growth.

As your president this year, my work will focus on increasing engagement, strengthening education opportunities, and increasing exposure of our dietetic profession as food and nutrition experts. The 2020-2021 DDA board is working to initiate several new goals for its members such as to increase virtual engagement, community outreach, high quality webinars, enhanced communication to the membership, and strengthening student involvement and opportunities to learn and network throughout the year.

At DDA, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates our diverse voices. Registered Dietitians practicing in a varied work setting, dietetic technicians, retired dietitians, and students enrolled in a dietetic program form our valued membership base at DDA. We are an independent, non-affiliated dietetic professional organization and our membership is not restricted to a geographical location.

I want to thank you for renewing your DDA membership this year and choosing to remain or becoming a new member of our DDA family. Stay connected with us on our social media platforms. Send us your ideas, get engaged and let’s use our collective voices to lift each other, and highlight our dietetic practice.

In gratitude and to new beginnings,
Sapna Punjabi-Gupta
